Welcome Screen and Kiosk

Unified Field developed a dynamic digital welcome screen and orientation kiosk for all visitors and visiting classrooms at the new NYC Board of Education's showcase - The City Hall Academy. Together the media provides the immediate core message of the academy, as well as detailed information ranging from historical perspectives to location guides.

The 24 foot wide front projection screen is one of the first things that visitors see as they enter the reception area. It is a dynamic, playful and individualized greeting and orientation, played out in bold animated graphics and multiple languages. When a class arrives, they are welcomed and individually greeted with their school name and number, teachers' and students' names. This information is downloaded and automatically displayed at the time classes are registered.

There are 4 touch screen kiosks that attract visitors with a fun self-running animated loop that entices visitors to touch the screen. The kiosks offer several types of basic information about the Academy, as an introduction to its background, philosophy, goals and strategic intentions. There is information about the history of the historic courthouse, and an interactive floor plan that provides location of facilities and directions for the different locations within the school.

Because the Academy is a living and growing institution, all of the media is designed for on-going flexibility and is very easy to update either by internal staff members or external vendors.
